Give Your Time

Volunteer With Us

Our Retreat & Wellness Center is being built by hand — and by hands like yours. Volunteers help restore the property, welcome guests and Veterans, and keep the mission running.

However much time you can give, there's a role that fits — on-site in Bocas del Toro or remote, from wherever you are.

Explore the retreat:

Ways to Volunteer

  • Property & Grounds

Lend a hand with the rehab — restoring decks, native landscaping, and general upkeep of the waterfront property.

  • Guest & Veteran Hospitality

Welcome guests and Veterans on arrival, help with meals and daily activities, and keep the retreat running smoothly.

  • Programs & Events

Support Veteran programs and community fundraising events that keep the mission funded.

  • Remote & Skilled Support

Offer skills from anywhere — admin, design, grant writing, or other professional expertise. No travel required.

The Place You'll Help Build

Our recently acquired waterfront property in Bocas del Toro is still becoming the retreat it's meant to be — and volunteer hands are part of getting it there.

  • Tinted cool-roof thatch coating — solar-reflective and cost-effective
  • Earthy eco-resort palette: sage, sand, and stone wall tones
  • Fully restored and re-stained local hardwood decks
  • Native landscaping and privacy planting throughout
  • Integrated solar decks and optimized mini-kitchens
  • Over-the-water short-term rental units
  • Communal bar & grill and a stone plunge pool
  • Private hand-carved stone soaking tubs

Your Time Multiplies the Mission

Every hour a volunteer gives is an hour our small team doesn't have to spend — freeing up resources to go further toward Veteran care, faster.

Hands That Build

On-site volunteers help restore the property into the self-sustaining retreat that funds free care for Veterans.

Time That Serves

Hospitality and program support keep costs down, so more of every guest stay and donation goes directly to Veteran care.

Skills From Anywhere

Remote volunteers lend professional expertise — admin, design, outreach — that stretches a small nonprofit's reach.

Veterans Helping Veterans

Convergence was founded by U.S. Veterans and their supporters who learned firsthand that healing comes from peer connection and purpose. What began at our Mirror Ranch retreat — equine-assisted work and dialectical behavior therapy — grew into SCUBA dive therapy for PTSD, and then into Panama.

Alongside partners like YWAM Ships and SAR Panama, our all-Veteran crews have run mobile medical missions (84 people treated in two days), humanitarian aid deliveries, and healing retreats aboard the M/V Ceaseless Explorer. Now our onshore Wellness Center gives that mission a permanent home.

There, Veterans move from surviving to thriving — turning wounded warriors into healers for both oceans and communities.
